What a spectacular mountain of research this must have taken!!
It’s really quite fascinating how people flock to certain conspiracy theories but shy away from other, objectively cooler and juicier ones. This is a brilliant one. Absolutely love everything about this, gold stars all around.
Thank you so much 🙏 I think a lot of it comes down to distraction. It’s a bit like what everyone is saying about the Musk salute thing: perhaps it’s a whole lot of misdirection? I don’t think that’s what Musk is doing (misdirecting us on purpose), but the Russians most certainly use the conspiracy theory firehose stuff to misdirect people, as in the cases of JFK assassination (to distract from anyone who might try to pin blame on them for it) and the shooting down of passenger planes (to hide their actual involvement in those things). I think people also prefer conspiracies that make it seem like they as individuals can make an impact on. If it’s something masterminded by people in their own country, then they can protest, make a ruckus, get the pitchforks out and bring it all down. If it’s the Russians, they’re not so easy to reach with said pitchfork. That’s my hypothesis at least.
That does make sense. The Musk salute thing is the perfect example. Like I’m pretty sure he did absolutely intend it, but also that it’s more for the ‘lol look what I can do and get away with’ factor than, like, calling people to recreate Nazi Germany. But just the fact that these are the things we are debating is wild
That's the beauty, there doesn't need to be one! Other than to generally confuse and confound the west entirely, make them fight each other, weaken Western alliances, sow distrust. They use it for all kinds of things, they thought they'd done enough to make the invasion of Ukraine stick but they were wrong. But anything that damages the enemy is a win for Vladimouse

a right riveting read... but what is their master plan by spreading this disinformation?
