I didn’t leave the room! I am glad I stayed. Thank you for the uplifting read. They need the good and mindful vibes.
A few months ago, France went through its own wave of election anxiety. We are still living the aftermath, but there’s no doubt the sun shines again. Wherever we are, each of us is finding ways to get back up and refresh our eyes on what democracy is, what it needs to be, and what it can become.
P.S. I am still a fan of your logo header—such bright vitamins!
Ahh sneaky! Yes my notes feed and reddit and everything are just awash with American Anxiety. I remember the French elections too, also an anxious time, and I worry that, along with what's happening in Germany and Austria, are a reflection of what happens in the wake of major political earthquakes in the US. It's like the stock market, when America sneezes, the world catches a cold. I am very thankful for the stability of my own country's democracy that's for sure, and hope we are far enough away from everyone that we're effectively socially distanced lol.
So glad :D yes it's a vibrant one, can't give it up!
I agree! Now as a collective, we have the choice to resist the wave, whatever happens. All this anxiety is rooted in an identity crisis. I wish we had an awakening about our human identity and less on borders and who enters or not a land (are we not tenants after all? Mother nature is the landlord, right?).
Even if it's less acclaimed in our era by the media, positive energy has more power than negativity. So, let's do our share and move the needle towards higher vibes.
Indeed! Australia is far enough and close enough. Well done, in standing your grounds!
Header: It's your brand so, yeah don't give it up.
I really look forward to these interviews and thanks for your note of luck for the elections. Fingers crossed. I've done my bit and sent in my ballot (to the sort of swing state of New Hampshire, but I think that's a safe win for the good team!). As you mention in your reply to another comment, things in Germany and Austria are trending in the wrong direction and here in Austria there's a fair bit of grumbling and discontent.
Alright, your honorary Australian Citizenship test is nearly complete. The last thing you need to do is eat Vegemite on toast while nodding and saying "Mmm delicious" with your mouth full and trying not to cry ;)
I'd be curious as to how things in Austria are going, I don't hear a lot out of there these days, but I'm not reading a whole lot of Deutsche-Welle either lol
You know, I thought I despised Vegemite but I had some not long ago during my daughter's kindergarten 'United Nations Day' festivities, where an Australian mother brought vegemite on toast and I enjoyed it! So I think I'm ready to take up citizenship :)
The far-right Freedom Party won 29% of the vote in the recent parliamentary election, the most but not enough to form a majority and thankfully none of the other parties are interesting in a coalition with them, nor will they accept their leader as prime minster. Other parties are still working on a coalition, so fingers crossed that a major crisis has been averted, but...we are certainly in tense times.

Must be the week for virus posts and podcasts!
We must all be sick with the writing bug!
