🎤 Voice Acting & Narration

So hey there! Looking for a professional voice? I’ve got you covered!

My name’s Nicholas. I love narrating, whether for a Substack post, an Audiobook, or anything else you like. I do my own post-processing, and with over 20 years worth of audio engineering and sound design experience, I work hard to ensure my recordings sound pristine.

I narrate most of my Substack posts here, and have done Audio readings for others on Substack.

My rates vary depending on the particular requirements, and am happy to negotiate. If your publication is still small and are not yet making much (or anything) from it, hit me up anyway and let’s talk.

As a rule of thumb, I typically charge in blocks of 1000 words for non-fiction reads. For fiction, which includes handling character voices, charges are in blocks of 500 words. No extra costs for accents or number of characters!

Styles and Accents:

I read primarily English, but can do portions in a variety of languages, accents and styles.

Languages I can read and pronounce well:

  • English

  • French

  • German

  • Spanish (European and South American styles)

  • Italian

Good pronunciation:

  • Japanese (when Romanji is provided)

Accents:

  • Australian (default)

  • Pretty much anything West-European

  • British (A bit Yorkshire, a bit Scotsman, a bit Posh, take your pick)

  • American (Northerner or Southerner)

  • Canadian (eh?)

I’ll always fix up mistakes that slip through the editing process for free, when brought to my attention. I’m often happy to re-record snippets and segments to better suit what you’re looking for. In rare cases, I might need to charge a re-recording fee for any substantial redo.

So that I can nail it on the first try, please give me as much detail as possible on what you have in mind!

Ready to chat? Great, me too!

I can’t wait to get started.

Rate guide (AUD = Australian Dollars):

  • Non-fiction: $99 (AUD)/1000 words

  • Fiction: $79 (AUD)/500 words

(Please note: these are just a guide and not a final quote, and are subject to change)
